With experiences becoming more valuable in today’s screen-first world, photo booth companies are innovating ways to capture and share these moments.

Here are four types of photo booths event marketers can expect to see in 2017:

A new spin on the traditional photo, GIFs are looping series of photos or videos that are quickly being embraced by event marketers. Here at Hive Social Lab, we overlay GIF videos with custom designs and logos to create branded GIFs guests share right from their photo booth.

Why does this matter? Because the GIF is Facebook and Instagram-friendly, creating a native experience in both Newsfeed and the Instagram feed! Event marketers can expect to start creating GIF content for their brands if they’re not already.

With apps like gaining popularity, event marketers can now harness the seductive power of singing along to favorite songs at live events. Photo booth companies like Smilebooth create short and shareable lip sync videos guests share directly to their social channels. If singing along in the car was fun, imagine the lip-sync magic that happens at live events. And now, you can capture it.

Multi-cam GIFs have a distinct “Matrix-like” effect which is made possible by an array of cameras. South Beach Photo Booth Company’s multi-camera photo booth creates 3D GIF videos for guests to share on their social media channels. Though not many photo booth companies have the tech to create multi-cam GIFs, event marketers can expect to see multi-cam photo booths and their “Matrix-like” GIF videos in 2017.

The mirmir booth, known as “the Kardashians’ favorite photo booth” uses proprietary software to filter and erase blemishes and create a distinctly smooth look to the face. Mirmir is one photo booth company that is branding itself on its proprietary software. As the number of photo booth companies continues to increase in 2017, event marketers can expect to see specific photo booths offering specific effects.
